Live video streaming is definitely having a moment – likely spurred on by the introduction of user streaming on Facebook.

Video has always been a hot topic, but now we’re seeing brands take it a step further with live, in the moment streaming for their audience to watch.

We predict more and more businesses will utilise the tool, showing off their latest products and developments.

Artificial intelligence

The trend for artificial intelligence is constantly growing. Brands can now provide high levels of customer service using machine learning and automated interactions with their audience.

You may have noticed that Facebook has recently introduced bot software that allows companies to use chatbots to interact with their consumer base. You can do anything from checking the latest news to ordering a pizza – all while communicating with an artificial intelligence system on Facebook Messenger.

This usage is only expected to grow as companies become more aware of the possibilities.

Virtual Reality integration

A few years ago, using virtual reality was a dream for most, due to the rarity and high expense of VR games and devices.

But due to their popularity, everyday consumers can get their hands on VR kits and start enjoying the fun. Although usually used for gaming, businesses can get in on the action too.

Take Pokemon Go for instance. Earlier this year, many business owners used the trend to lure Pokemon hunters to their premises.

While we’re certainly all aware of the above trends – and may even use them in some ways already – they’re the trends that are the most expected to become huge in 2017, giving marketers a chance to try something new in their strategies.

Remember, you’ll need to stay up to date with the trends if you want to stay one step ahead of your competitors, so it’s not too early to start getting to grips with these cool new features.
